Our story began in 2015 when our founder, Kudakwashe Makuzwa, was driven by the desire to provide a consistent source of income for local women laborers and lift local communities. She focused on curating high quality honey because it offers a sustainable livelihood and supports the delicate balance of our ecosystem. Beekeeping and harvesting honey fosters community cooperation, environmental stewardship, and local economic development.

The Hive: Where it all begins
Our journey starts deep in the wild landscapes of Zimbabwe, where our beekeepers carefully tend to their hives. These hives are strategically placed among diverse flora, ensuring our bees have access to the best pollen and nectar sources. The bees work tirelessly, gathering nectar from wildflowers, acacias, pine trees, citrus and from the indigenous plants of the Miombo woodland which define the forests of Zimbabwe. The African Honey Bees then create honey that's rich in flavor and full of unique nutritional benefits.
Sustainable Harvesting: A Commitment to Nature
When the hives are full, our beekeepers harvest the honey using traditional, sustainable methods that have been passed down through generations. This careful approach ensures that the bees are not harmed and that the natural balance of the environment is maintained.
From Forest to Jar: Preserving Purity
Once harvested, the raw honey still on combs is brought to our processing facility, where it undergoes minimal processing to retain its raw, natural qualities. We believe in keeping our honey as close to nature as possible, which is why we don’t add any artificial ingredients or preservatives. The result is a product that’s pure, unfiltered, and packed with the natural flavors of Zimbabwe.
